Poster Exhibition

At  (PNCA) On 20th & 21st March 2014.


SACH-Struggle for change in collaboration with British High Commission organised a Poster Exhibition on the topic 'Forced Marriages' in Pakistan National Council Of Arts Islamabad (PNCA) on 20th and 21st March 2014.
Forced marriage is a marriage in which one or both parties is married against his or her will. People who are forced to get married might be emotionally blackmailed, threatened or tricked into going abroad. 
Number of students from different schools and universities participated in this event by designing posters depicting the menace of Forced Marriages. 
Some of the posters were made by using digital techniques and some were handmade art pieces. 
Students shared their ideas by making posters like hands tied with rope, rings entangled in chain and thoughts coming in the mind of victim of her miserable future after getting married forcefully. 
The top three poster were selected by our expert jury members and were given cash prizes and certificates. 
The purpose of this event was to create awareness among the general public on the issue of forced marriages as it is illegal, un-Islamic and also painful for those who lack from their choice to choose.
The exhibition was attended by people from different walk of life who appreciated the effort of organising the event on such taboo subject. 
The message conveyed through the posters was very clear ,strong and heart touching. 
The practice of marrying young boys and girls without their free consent is unjust and it effects their present as well as their future. 
The closing ceremony was graced by British high commissioner along with diplomats from other embassies.
