A one-day Police Sensitization Workshop was organized by SACH – Struggle for Change in collaboration with European Union on Thursday November 08, 2018 at Police Lines, Police Head Quarters Islamabad. The training workshop was conducted for police officials from Islamabad Capital Territory, focusing on “Fundamental Human Rights and Stress Management”. The activity was aimed to guide the police in the performance of their task while observing and protecting human rights and managing the stress encountered as a result of professional duties.
The proceedings comprised of a session delivered by Dr. Zia Ahmed Khan, a reputed motivational speaker who has been associated with NIPA Peshawar for over 40 years. He is a senior trainer at the moment at National School of Public Policy (NSPP) that provides training's to senior cadre officers from the government and military. The session also included a number of exercises e.g. smiling at the person sitting next, rubbing hands profusely and rubbing the ear cartilages, aimed at refreshing the participants for grasping the content being delivered. Mr. Zia explained that the purpose of the topic was re-engineering leadership, since everyone is a leader in his own personal capacity, whether it is work, family or peers. To become a strong leader, the most important aspect is anger management, as it not only affects the people around, but one’s own self.
